MENNINGARNÓTT 2004
MENNINGARNÓTT 2004. 5ta herdeildin made its first post-summer-vacation appearance in the Garden of Dillon, on the nationally renowned event called Menningarnótt 2004. Appearence of sort that has become quite serial with herdeildin, as this was the third time herdeildin has partaken in the celebration.
Sponsored by Radio Station Xið, Carlsberg Beer, Höfuðborgarstofa and Feminístafélag Íslands - a encompassingly big rock´n´roll concert was held in the backyard of bar Dillon, featuring alongside herdeildin: glamour-rockers Minus and Hafnarfjordian pop group Úlpa.
In its habitually silent and non-outspoken way, herdeildin celebrated its past dealings with the bar Dillon - where herdeildin, in its brassiere-days held a post as a officially local HOUSE BAND - though not playing neither house nor home.

The same hornet now, through with the bassist, turning towards the drummer with blazing ferocity.
Did you know that 500 people die or are severely injured by hornet attacks each day - a number of 500 you can easily deduct that up to 0,7 percent thereof are members in folk bands???
A number of new songs were introduced at the Dillon konzert. Summer holidays very often quite inviting environment to throw out the old things and make passes at other things - the latter being quite opposite to the former.
This was both a hot and a cold day. Arguements ensuing on whether the first came first or the second?

Loftur bassman carried the world on his shoulders in his titan-like manner as usual.
Gímaldin was pensive as usual, but also regressive at times though most often quite prone to be oppressive.
Record Company Plötur and Mússikk ehf, sent some sinister looking envoys to the concert probably on the mission of scouting for material for their up-and-coming Publishing Season.
Herdeildin´s legion of fanz - note the absence of both Rock Star Lou Reed and Foreign Minister Halldór Ásgrímsson - both popularily believed to have herdeildin-affiliations.

As can readily be seen the independent band 5ta herdeildin is not and has never been sponsored by any firm, company or establishment of any given nature.
5ta herdeildin would like extend both its gratitude and thanks to all Burgers of Reykjavík, whether or not they attended our concert, and also to Sif Gunnarsdóttir and Höfuðborgarstofa - for organizing such a fun day - The bar Dillon for cool attitude, Exton for expert craftsmanship and Noam Chomsky for the loan of his kangaroo-socks.
